Frequently Asked Questions

Client Questions:

Q. Where’d you get your name from?

A. Well, I’ve never been drawn to the whole “First name Last name Photography” business name.  It’s just not for me.  So, I thought about other options and I thought a simple, straight to the point, and relevant name would simply be “Rachel Photographs.”  That was after changing my name 2 other times.  I’m happy with it and it’s here to stay.

Q. What does “natural light” photographer mean?

A. It means that I prefer to shoot outside, with use of the natural light outside.  That also means that I don’t generally shoot in a studio.

Q. Do you specialize in anything?

A. I specialize in creative portraits, engagements, and weddings –all with a whimsical, personal twist!
Though I will photograph just about anything, those are the things I enjoy photographing the most.

A. Right now, I use:

A. I do!  I love to travel.  To inquire about a destination wedding, please email me.

Q. How does the payment work for a wedding or session?

A. To book a wedding, a 25% deposit is due at the signing of the contract to reserve your date.  The remaining balance may be paid in increments or in a lump sum as long as it is paid in full 2 weeks prior to the wedding.  To book a session, a 25% retainer is due at the signing of the contract to book your date.  A session balance must be paid in full before we start the session.

Q. When can I expect my photos to be done?

A. For a wedding or similar event, please allow 6-8 weeks for your photos to be completed.  For a mini session or full session, please allow up to 4 weeks.  Those are the average turnaround times.  Please understand that while I do my best, some photos may take longer than the average turnaround time…but some may be faster; you never know!
