Victoria and Caleb know the way to my heart. They know several ways to my heart, actually. Like when we all met for brunch at Hatch and talked about the vision for their bold, bright, modern wedding. My heart exploded one thousand times when I witnessed how much they loved each other and how-truly-they were each other’s best friends. We talked about Harry Potter and Chance the Rapper (they casually mentioned that they were seeing him in concert the upcoming weekend…and…a few days before their wedding, they (and I…because duh)…went to another Chance the Rapper show in Tulsa) and food and coffee and probably Gilmore Girls. They gave me all the details of their wedding up to that moment and I knew immediately I wanted to be best friends with them (and be their photographer).
I’m still working on custom BFF bracelets for the three of us, but I did get to photograph their beautiful engagements in the mountains and prairies of Oklahoma. When I think of their engagement session, I hold it dear in my heart. It will remain one of my favorites sessions ever. (I need to blog it soon…sorry I’m doing this thing backwards, everyone.)
Aaaaand, I was the lucky human who had the absolute honor of photographing their wedding. Seriously…throughout the day I kept thinking to myself “I am the most #blessed wedding photographer in the world right now.” I felt so thankful to be there. Not only was it an honor to be at the coolest-most-beautiful-most-fun-couple-in-the-world’s wedding, but my jaw dropped when I saw how amazing and whimsical and stunning and fun and colorful everything looked (shout out to the killer team of vendors below).
The day itself was joyous. It was palpable. It was the energy weaving everything together. I know 100% it was because everyone there loves Victoria + Caleb so much-there was nowhere anyone would rather be. There was an excitement in the air. And the most excited, of course, were the bride and groom. They were beaming all day (and man…they have great smiles). Throughout the night, whenever I’d slyly look at them through my lens or just with my eyeballs, I’d catch them lovingly staring at each other, resting heads on shoulders, hands grazing each other’s back, sneaked glances and smiles. It was the best.
There is way too much to say about Victoria and Caleb and them as a couple and their wedding day, so I’m done rambling. Here are some photos.
