When I quietly came into Jesse + Jake’s Airbnb the morning of the wedding, I was immediately welcomed with a vibrant “RACHEL! WHAT IS UP, GIRL?” by Jesse. These two treat you like family. And their family treats you like family. It was a joy being able to celebrate their marriage in Destin, Florida (which was so beautiful-I had never been before), and hang out with them all day.
The energy was tangible-laughter and happy tears flowing all afternoon while getting ready. They exchanged gifts. More tears.
The sunset ceremony, surrounded by closest family and friends, felt super special. Jesse walked herself down the aisle to a beaming Jake. They exchanged vows, shared more laughter, and then after the ceremony and family photos, I took then for some photos on the beach. I’ve talked about how much I love it when couples completely open up to me. These two do just that. They laugh. They goof off. They aren’t afraid to be themselves. And those are the photos I especially love taking.
After sunset photos on the beach, they invited me back to their Airbnb for grilled burgers and hotdogs, swimming, and more hanging out. It was one of the best post-ceremony times I’ve ever had and I’d highly recommend to any couple to have a super-laid back ceremony. They pulled out a few celebratory cigars and smoked around the firepit, conversation and joy flowing.
Okay, so now I know I love beach weddings a lot. And I want to shoot more.
There’s something magical about them.
I’m done talking. Here are some photos for your eyeballs.
